On first Sunday of April, President Uhuru Kenyatta worshipped with congregants of AIC Pipeline where he had been invited alongside other cabinet secretaries to preside over launching of church based school classes.
While welcoming the President, Bishop incharge highlighted several things that he would like the President to do for the congregants and the residents of Pipeline.
The bishop highlighted water shortage which he said is not only an issue in the church but also in the entire of pipeline.
Among others issues raised included need to have a decent church, school that would have high capacity and a junior secondary school as roll of CBC continues.
When President Uhuru Kenyatta rose to speak, congregants could not hide their joy and one could tell they were expecting a banquet of gifts.
The President did not hesitate giving a personal donation of Ksh 10 million to aide in construction of a modern church.
Cabinet Secretaries who had accompanied him led by Fred Matiang’i, Fariday Karoney, Monica Juma and Eugene Wamalwa collectively topped the Presidents donation with Ksh 1 million.
Not enough, the President narrated his earlier engagement with Kenya Pipeline Corporation in a move to get a community land from the corporation for establishing Junior Secondary School. Uhuru told the congregants that his engagements with the corporation not only yielded a piece of land for the junior secondary but also Ksh 10 million as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility by the Kenya Pipeline to set up the school.
President Uhuru Kenyatta also promised send Nairobi Metropolitan Service in Pipeline to evaluate the issue of water shortage in the area and drill several water boreholes to curb water shortage.
While concluding his speech, Uhuru urged congregants to observe peace during this political season and embrace one other for Kenya must be there after August.
