A Kisii based police officers is nursing a deep cut and a fractured arm following an attack by a suspect they had gone to arrest.

The suspect who has been identified as Anthony Rakamba allegedly attacked police officers who had stormed his compound to arrest him.

Anthony Rakamba was on the police radar after he chopped his neighbour’s hand and went into hiding.

According to Masaba North Sub County Police Deputy Commander, the suspect was ambushed while asleep but upon learning that he was in the police dragnet, he opened the door and attacked the police officer with a deep cut in the head and a fractured leg.

To neutralize the suspect, police officers shot him before being arrested.

The injured police officers and the suspect were taken to Kerok Sub County Hospital for emergency medical attention and later on, they were transferred to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital.

Kenyans are calling for the arrest of a police officer who was seen in a viral video demanding money from a wines and spirits operator.

The owner of the wines and spirits however declined to give in to the police officer demands and claimed that she had all the licenses.

Attempts to arrest the business woman were thwarted by members of the public who were following the incident from a distance.
