South African Pastor buried after staying in the morgue for more than one year.
A South African pastor has been buried after staying the morgue for 579 days. Pastor Moodley aged 53 of The Miracle Centre Church breathed his last breath on August 15th 2021 in Johannesburg.
Despite his death, the body remained preserved at a Johannesburg morgue for 579 days awaiting resurrection.
After his sudden death following a short illness, his body was taken to Martin’s Funeral Home by church followers and close family members who believed that he will resurrect and continue with the gospel ministry.
The church members and family members led by his wife and children used to visit the morgue frequently to pray for the deceased pastor with high hopes that he will resurrect.
His church, The Miracle Centre Church, also did not recognize the Pastor’s demise and remained hopeful that one day he will resurrect. They also kept his social media platforms active.
Attempts by fellow pastors to urge the family to respect the deceased and give him a decent burial proved futile as the family believed that it was just a matter of time before he woke up.
