Missing Kirinyaga woman found buried in a shallow grave underneath her bed.
Body of a missing Kirinyaga woman, Joyce Nginya, was found buried in a shallow grave underneath her bed in Mwea East by police officers.
The woman is allegedly said to have been killed by her lover before being buried under her bed in Thiba North Village.
The body of the woman was discovered on Thursday after missing for four days since Sunday. Police also confirmed to the media that the woman’s family had reported to Kiamaciri police station about their missing kin.
Following the report of a missing person by the family, police visited the home of the deceased where they discovered signs of struggle before discovering a shallow grave underneath the bed.
According to Mwea West Sub County Deputy Police Commander Sammy Beauttah, exhuming the body of the deceased had to wait for a while until police got a court order from Baricho Law Courts.
Sister to the deceased told the media that her sister was a single mother and had separated from her husband in 2011.
Jane Njeru, the sister, also told the media that her sister was a Miraa vendor at Thiba Shopping Centre and could not tell any motive of murder.
Police officers processed the scene of the incident before transferring the body to Kerugoya Hospital Mortuary where a postmortem will be carried out.
Police officers investigating the murder are also looking for unidentified man from Murang’a who is said to be the lead suspect.
