Thabo Bester mother, Maria Mabaso, speaks following his son’s escape from prison, confesses that she conceived Thabo when she was barely 17 years after she was raped.
She expressed concerns over her son’s safety and that of hers following the daring prison break where Thabo Bester faked his death by burning an unknown man in his cell beyond recognition. His son Thabo Bester had been sentenced for life after he was found guilty of rape.
DNA report from the remnants of the torched body however revealed the shocking details of how Thabo Bester conspired with some security guards from the G4S managed prison to fake his death and escape from prison.
According to his mother, Maria Mabaso, she has suffered lot because of his son who has been nicknamed by the public as the Facebook rapist to a point of experiencing a stroke and she is now on medication for survival.
His mother, Maria Mabaso, also confessed that she has suffered enough because of his son and if she happens to meet him, she would ask why he opted to be a criminal and even escape from prison after being sentenced.
She also expressed fear over her son’s life if he opted to go back home. According to her, members of the society might opt to lynch him.
“I will ask him why you do like that; you don’t think about us because when you do that you’re killing me. He’s killing me now this child. I’m scared for the tsotis [criminals], I’m scared for Thabo. It’s my child, I like him I’ll never throw him away but what he was doing is wrong…”
Barely few days after the exclusive interview, Thabo was arrested in Tanzania in company of two other individuals with several passports.
South African Authorities will now be travelling to the East African Country for them to repatriate the three to South Africa so that they can be processed to face fresh charges.
