In a development following our report yesterday on the disappearance of two individuals en route to meet a potential buyer interested in purchasing their Prado, new details have emerged, with one of the victims now rescued.
It appears that the two individuals fell victim to carjackers posing as prospective car buyers. After leaving the yard, they vanished without a trace, and their phones went silent.
Today, the KBS Prado was spotted on Thika Road near the Kahawa Wendani footbridge. The Prado had collided with an Uber driver, who was waiting for a client. The impact caused damage to the Uber driver’s vehicle.
Seizing the opportunity for compensation, the Uber driver decided to pursue the Prado. The carjackers inside the Prado attempted to intimidate him by firing shots into the air, but the determined Uber driver continued the chase.
During the pursuit, the Uber driver heard a distress call from someone inside the Prado. The caller matched the description of one of the victims who had gone missing on friday, wearing a vest and seeking help from the Uber driver.
Eventually, at Kahawa, the speeding Prado lost control and hit roadside grills. Two men and a woman exited the vehicle and fled on a bodaboda. When attempts were made to apprehend them, they fired three shots into the air, causing onlookers to scatter.
Upon reaching Kahawa Sukari, the bodaboda driver was threatened, and the three individuals used the motorcycle to escape. In the Prado’s trunk, the man who had sought help was discovered with his mouth bound and hands tied. According to his statement, they had been kidnapped on Friday, and the perpetrators were demanding a ransom from his family.
Kahawa Wendani detectives are now actively pursuing the three suspects and any potential accomplices involved in this incident.
