Background
Oljoorok is one of the constituencies in Nyandarua County and Michael Muchira is the elected member of parliament for the Oljoroorok Constituency.
Mwangi Muchira was elected as the member of parliament for the constituency in 2017 on a Jubilee ticket and in 2022 on a United Democratic Party ticket after staging an intensive campaign for his election and for the election of President William Ruto who is the party’s party leader.
Michael Muchira Education Background
Though details about his early life and education are not available, Michael Muchira joined University of Nairobi in the year 2002 to study Bachelor of Arts in Land and economics and graduated in 2006.
In 2013, he enrolled at Kenyatta University to advance his studies. He took Masters of Business Administration focusing on Strategic management and graduated in 2014.
In 2014, he enrolled for yet another masters of science degree in Finance at the University of Nairobi and graduated in 2016.
Michael Muchira also holds a Diploma in Project Management from the Kenya Institute of Management. Additionally, he is a Certified Public Accounts from Pinnacle School.
Career and Politics
After completing his studies at the University of Nairobi, he landed his first job at Venmic Consultants as Valuer and Property Manager, a position he held for two years until 2008.
In 2008, he moved to Kenya Railways Corporation where he acted as an Estate Manager until 2016 when he resigned to pursue politics. He was elected on Jubilee Party as the Member of Parliament for Oljoroorok in the following year.
He is now on his second term as the Member of Parliament for Oljororok Constituency. Previously he has been a member of Departmental committee on Labour and Social Welfare and also a member of public accounts committee.
