Agony in a Siaya based is in agony following the death of their grandmother just a few days after they buried their uncle who died while in the United States.
A woman who has been identified as Patricia Atieno Owino from Miyare Karadolo village in Ugenya, Siaya County has left her family in agony following her death moments after she was attacked by a swarm of bees.
The swarm of bees allegedly attacked the elderly woman after a tractor that she had hired to till her land accidentally hit a bee hive.
Her grandson, Billian Ojiwa, who spoke to one of the local news outlet confirmed the incident. According to Billiam, all the other people managed to flee to a secure place except her deceased grandmother.
“Everyone else managed to flee the scene after the tractor hit a hive where the bees were living and they started attacking people,” Billian said.
Following the incident, Patricia Atieno was rushed to a Siaya based hospital where she was admitted but she unfortunately died while being be attended to by doctors.
The death of Patricia Otieno came just two months after her son died while in the United States. The body of Patricia’s son was repatriated back to the country three weeks ago, two months after he died.
“My grandmother has just gone a few weeks after our uncle also died. The two have been a great pillar in the family and also ensured that things worked out for everyone,” Ojiwa stated.
Ojiwa, who was vying for the Mathare parliamentary seat on UDA ticket also said that his uncle and grandmother were great pillars of the family and they have suffered a huge loss following their loss.
