Handshake looming?
Immediately after President Joe Biden insider, Senator Chris Coons, landed in the country, Kenyans and political analysts started to speculate a looming handshake between the opposition and the Kenya Kwanza regime.
Just a recap, Senator Chris Coons is one of the foreign forces who birthed the retired President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition Chief Raila Odinga handshake in 2018.
A few days later after the handshake, President (retired) Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga travelled to the United States together where they met senior government officials, a move that did not settle well with then Deputy President William Ruto and his associates.
Immediately after the 2022 general election, the Senator landed in the country with a delegation from the Biden’s administration and met with retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, Raila Odinga and William Samoei Ruto who had been declared as the President elect.
Senator Chris Coons requested Uhuru Kenyatta to aid in a peaceful transition for the stability of the country. After meeting the retired President, he told the media that they had agreed on how Uhuru Kenyatta will lead the transition.
Now Senator Chris Coons is in the country and he has already the opposition team and the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
