Popular City DJ, Brownskin Lamba Lolo, criticized by Kenyans after he was exposed by Edgar Obare of recording his wife commit suicide without thwarting the suicide attempts.
DJ Brownskin Lamba Lolo is being accused of recording a video and sharing it with his friends as his wife put poison in a cup and drunk it.
In the video which is in our possession, the late wife to the popular DJ is seen putting poison in a cup and drinking it. The DJ is heard in the background of the video encouraging her to take the poison.
A few moments later, Brownskin Lamba Lolo is heard telling the house manager and one of his children to give his wife milk to ease the impact of the consumed poison.
It is however not established at what time they rushed her to hospital where she succumbed from.
The video has elicited mixed reactions across social platforms with a section of Kenyans accusing the DJ of being in humane and not thwarting the attempt by his wife to commit suicide.
Others accused him of not being considerate to his children by allowing their mother to consume poison as he watched.
A section of Kenyans in the socials have however come into the defense of the embattled Brownskin Lamba Lolo. Led by controversial lawyer Wahome Thuku and blogger Gordon Opiyo, the two are arguing that was it not for the video the DJ recorded, he would now be facing charges of murdering his wife both in the court of public opinion and in a court of law.
“In Kenya, if you are on 10th floor with someone and he/she decides to jump to the ground, take your camera immediately and record till they hit the ground. Especially if you are a celeb. Let’s condemn you for failing to stop, than accusing you of homicide and push the DCI for weeks to arrest and jail you. This is Kenya my friend. The court of public opinion needs the hardened my friend. If men can shoot without missing, fly without perching,” Wahome Thuku wrote.
