Shiksha Arora mugged at globe round about flyover while on her way to KBC relaunch.
She narrated on twitter how she got mugged, “Yesterday at around 5:20PM I got robbed at the globe round about flyover. Guy one knocked my side mirror bending it backwards & walked away. While I was rolling down my window slightly to reposition the mirror, guy 2 started banging the front seat passenger window loudly.”
“As he was strangling my neck, I desperately gasped for air, I started hooting loudly to get some attention hoping somebody would help me. People started getting out of their cars and that’s when he let go and fled. He went with my purse but I am traumatized.” She continued.
“These thugs work in teams in broad day light during peak traffic, don’t roll down your window no matter what when on globe round about. I got lucky, he didn’t manage to hurt me much despite strangling my neck and getting away with my purse. I am okay but traumatized.” She narrated.
Her mugging just happed a few days after the National Police Service said that they have performed a special unit to deal with the mugging because of the public outcry on the increased number of mugging.
In another press statement, Kinoti, the director of criminal investigations asked all those who have been mugged in the city to file formal complains since it comes hard to prosecute arrested muggers when there no one who has filed a formal complain.
