On Monday afternoon, President Uhuru Kenyatta landed in the Kingdom of Belgium where he was welcomed by King Philippe at the Royal Palace in Brussels for a two-day visit in both Belgium and European Union.
On his visit, the President is accompanied by Raychelle Omamo of Foreign Affairs, Betty Maina of Trade and Adan Mohammed of East Africa Community. The three, together with President Uhuru Kenyatta, they held a private meeting with King Philippe.
For the two days Uhuru will be in Belgium, he is scheduled to have meeting with the European Council Charles Michael to deliberate on Kenya-EU matters and also address the Kenya Belgium Business forum.
The President will also attend a meeting with the secretary General of African, Caribbean and Pacific States, Dr Georges Robelo Pinto Chikoti where he will address the organization committee ambassadors.
Uhuru Kenyatta is currently the President in office of the 79-member Organization of the African, Caribbean and Pacific States.
During his stay in Brussels Uhuru will address matters relating to the progress of post-contonoun agreement with the European council and also get brief of the progress from the Secretary General of the Brussels based multilateral institution.
Apart from the Post Contonou agreement and Kenya-EU partnership agreement, Uhuru is also expected to discuss Economic Partnership Agreements with European Council which has been pending since 2014.
