India Rats Shocks The World After Eating 200KGs of Weed.
Rats found themselves on the receiving end after police officers failed to produce evidence in court in India.
Police officers were to produce 195 Kilograms of weed as evidence in Uttar Pradesh State in India but instead, they said the 195 Kilograms of weed had been eaten by rats.
In a court statement by the police officers, they said that fearless mice destroyed the evidence leaving them with nothing to present in court.
The presiding judge, Judge Sanjay, appeared not amused by the revelations of the police officers on the disappearance of evidence in their custody. The judge instead echoed police officers’ statements and said, “Rats are tiny animals and they have no fear of the police, it is difficult to protect the drugs from them.”
The judge also noted that it is not the first time that court evidence especially drugs were disappearing in the hands of police officers courtesy of the small-sized animals.
Recently, 386 Kilograms of weed disappeared under police custody. India police officers blamed rats for the disappearance of the court evidence.
During the case proceedings, Judge Sanjay however advised police officers to auction drugs to research institutions to avoid their destruction by either rain or the small rains and donate the proceeds to government institutions.
In India, smoking weed for recreational purposes is illegal and criminalized by the law. Some extracts of weed use such as bhang are however legalized but with limited use.
Indians are also allowed to grow and sell weed strictly for medicinal purposes. Levels of THCs are also highly regulated to ensure weeds products in the market are for medicinal purposes only.
