Faith Gitau is the current and the second women representative of Nyandarua County. She is serving as the Women REP of Nyandarua after she was reelected on a United Democratic Alliance Ticket. Previously, she had elected on a Jubilee ticket in 2017.
She first tried her luck in Kenya politics in 2007 when she contested for the Ndaragua constituency Member of Parliament against Jeremiah Kioni. Kioni however trounced her. In 2013, she contested for the Nyandarua County Women Rep on a Farmers Party ticket but she lost to Wanjiku Muhia.
In 2017 she successfully contested for the Nyandarua County Women Representative on a Jubilee ticket. She managed to wrestle the Jubilee Party ticket from the then incumbent, Wanjiku Muhia.
After she was elected as the Women Representative of Nyandarua County, she was elected as member of the departmental committee on energy in the National Assembly
Following the 2022 general election and the intensive campaign she staged in support of President William Ruto, she was rewarded with a slot at the lucrative Parliamentary Service Commission. She now serves as a commissioner alongside other commissioners.
Faith Gitau holds a Bachelor degree in Social Sciences from the Washington University. She also has a Higher Diploma in Business Administration from Kenya Institute of Management which she attained in 2004.
Before joining politics, she worked with different organizations like UNHCR and UNESCO. Between 1992 and 2001 she was an Administrative Assistant at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. In 2004, she joined UNESCO as an administrative officer. She left in 2010 to do construction and supplies businesses.
