Muthee Kiengei alias Guka wa Nairobi is one of the most sought MCees in the country. Though known by his on air names as Muthee Kiengei alias Guka wa Nairobi, his real name Benson Gathungu Kamau. Recently he has been the talk of the town following his morning show call pranks at Kameme FM where he randomly calls Kameme FM rotary winners pretending to be someone else while on air. His fans have been recording the pranks and circulating them across all social media platforms increasing his popularity.
Career
Muthee Kiengei alias Guka wa Nairobi name started picking back in 2006 when he joined street comedy in Nakuru and got featured in a couple of Kikuyu films.
He later joined Kameme FM, a Kikuyu radio station owned by Media Max Ltd and closely associated with the Kenyatta family.
At Kameme FM, he has been hosting the morning show for the longest time possible with his co-host Gatonye wa Mbugua. The Arahuka morning show is one of the most listened shows across all the Kikuyu radio stations in the country.
Muthee Kiengei is also the founder of an entertainment and events company called Kiengei Live whose headquarters are based along the Eastern Bypass in Nairobi. The company focuses on providing public address systems, events logistics and live coverage.
Kiengei is also a veteran Emcee and recently he has been amidst lots of controversies after he made public his Emceeing rate card. Despite his high charges, he still remains to be one of the most sought Emcees in the country.
Church Life
Though known for his comics, Muthee Kiengei made an about turn a couple of years back and went to theology school which upon completing, he was ordained as a priest of the African Independent Pentecostal Churches of Africa and posted to Gatundu Township Headquarters.
After serving for some time, Pastor Ben left in early 2023 and openned his church along the Eastern Bypass and called it Jesus Compassion Ministries. Within a few weeks, he has managed to attract a huge congregation.
On several occasions, Pastor Ben has claimed that his church is for everyone and the less privileged should always visit his church for a packet of Unga.
Family Life
Muthee Kiengei wa Watoria is a respectable family man and an elder. Previously he had wedded Radio Presenter Kezeiah Kariuki but due to irreconcilable differences, the two separated. They have however been raising their child together.
With time Muthee Kiengei moved on and wedded his now beautiful wife named Joyceline Ngaru.
