Senator Joe Nyutu is the current senator for Murang’a County having been elected during the 2022 general elections through a United Alliance Party ticket. He is the third senator of Murang’a county and he took over from Irungu Kang’ata who was contesting for Murang’a gubernatorial seat. He was also contesting against the first Murang’a County senator Kembi Gitura.
Apart from politics, Joe Nyutu is a family man and owns several businesses in the country one of the businesses being a venture in the education sector where he manages two top end schools.
Early Life and Education of joe Nyutu
Details about Senator Joe Nyutu early life are not public but for now we can authoritatively state that the senator was born and raised in Murung’a county before joining Kijabe High School in 1988 to 1989 where he sat for Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education.
The following year in 1990, he joined Moi University to study a Bachelor of Education degree and graduated in 1994.
Later in 1999, he joined Strathmore University for a period of one year until 2000 for his studies CPA. Nyutu also holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Kenyatta University.
Career, Business and Politics
Senator Joe Nyutu was employed by Teachers Service Commission as a CRE and Kiswahili teacher. At one time when he was teaching at Chief Koinange High School, he used to operate a taxi business in the evening and during holidays to make ends meet.
The first time Murang’a County senator is also a business man and owns two luxurious schools whose names are not yet in the public domain.
Joe Nyutu rose to prominence in 2017 when he unsuccessfully contested for the Murang’a County Assembly Speaker position.
