Njeri Maina is the third women rep of Kirinyaga county elected on United Democratic Alliance Party. She is also the managing partner at Njeri Maina Law Advocates.

Neri Maina Early Life & Education

She was born in the year 1994 and was raised in Kibingoti, Ndia Constituency. She attended early schooling at Kiangoma Primary School and a few years later she transferred to Mugi Junior Academy where she sat for her Kenya Certification of Primary Educationq.

Her performance was extremely good and she got enrolled at Kabare Girls High School where she schooled for four years and sat for KCSE in the year 2011.

In 2012, she was enrolled for a certificate cause in Mandarin at Kenyatta University which she completed in the same year.

Between 2012 and 2016, Njeri Maina was enrolled for Bachelor of Laws course at the University of Nairobi. Upon completion, she joined the Kenya School of government where she did her Post Graduate Diploma in Law and passed her BAR exams in 2018. She was sworn in as an advocate of the High of Kenya by the retired Chief Justice David Maraga.

Njeri Maina Business & Work Life

While at the University of Nairobi, the now Kirinyaga County Women Representative was involved in a series of businesses to make ends meet. She founded Moirani Beauty Company which dealt with women wigs, hair products, women handbags, jewelry and other cosmetic accessories.

Apart from running Moirani Beauty Company, she was also engaged in shelf renting business in the city. Business men and women would rent shelves at her shop to store their products. The shelves would also act as pick up point for their customers.

Additionally, Njeri Maina has been engaging in community projects where she helps the less privileged members of the society especially young mothers and the elderly.

Before registering her own law firm, Njeri Maina worked as a legal research intern at Amandi and Associates Advocates, as a legal assistant at Lilian Amere and Company Advocates and as the lead of litigation at Mathenge Wambugu Advocates.

In 2021, Njeri Maina registered her own law firm called Njeri Maina Law Advocates with the intention of helping people with legal issues especially the less privileged by offering pro bono services. The recent case that she handled is that of Kelvin Maina whose body had been detained for close to eight months at Kenyatta University Teaching Referral and Research Hospital Funeral Home over 1.3 million pending hospital bill. The now Kirinyaga County Women Rep won the case and the body of the deceased was released to the family for sendoff.

Njeri Maina now serves as the third Women Rep of Kirinyaga County and she is currently running a campaign in the county dubbed as Tripple Threat Campaign which aims at ending teenage pregnancies, creating mental health awareness and ending gender based violence.
