Shock as 17 years old girl is found breathing and her heart beating minutes to her scheduled post mortem.
Doctors and morticians were shocked after a girl who had been pronounced dead was found breathing and her heart beating just a few minutes to her scheduled post mortem in a Uganda based morgue.
The 17 years old girl was allegedly descended on by members of the public after she was caught stealing bananas in APC, Uganda. Following the beating, she was pronounced dead and her body was moved to the morgue.
Luckily, before the post mortem was conducted by the designated pathologist, morticians made the discovery that the minor was alive and kicking.
Following the discovery, the Matima ward native teenager was rushed to APAC Hospital where she has been placed under Intensive Care Unit.
The Uganda North Region police spokesperson narrated how they received the reports that a minor had been killed by the mob after she was caught stealing a banana bunch.
According to Patrick Jimmy Okema, the North Regional Police Spokesperson, officers rushed to the scene following the report, processed the scene and conveyed the body to APAC Hospital mortuary.
The police spokesperson also noted that one person has been arrested in relation to the mob justice incident and more suspects are expected to be arrested and arraigned in court once police complete their investigations.
The spokesperson also urged those who took part in beating the minor to surrender to the nearest police station before the law catches up with them. He also urged members of the public to avoid taking matters in their own hands for they might harm innocent citizens.
