Machakos County Governor Wavinya Ndeti lectures Meru MCA for impeaching Governor Kawira Mwangaza.

On an interview with Citizen Digital, the Machakos County Governor accused the Meru County Assembly Members of malice for impeaching Governor Kawira Mwangaza simply because she involved the first gentleman in the affairs of the county.

Wavinya Ndeti told the Meru MCAs that if roles were reversed the Meru first gentleman became the governor, he would involve the first lady in the affairs of the county just like other male governors.

“Why do men want to treat their wives this way but don’t want women to do the same for their husbands? Let Kawira’s husband be accorded the same level of respect he is supposed to just like how other first ladies from across the country are treated,” Wavinya Ndeti told Mashrina Kapombe.

She however, advised the embattled Meru County Governor to involve other elected leaders in the county’s development agenda instead of isolating them now that the impeachment motion was shot down in the senate after the 11 members committee appointed by Speaker Amason Kingi found Kawira Mwangaza not guilty.

“If its MCAs, be cordial with them when it comes to working and delivering for your area’s residents. Involve all officials in county matters but don’t let them run all over you simply because you are a woman. I am telling my female colleagues to be tough but respectful at the same time,” Wavinya Ndeti advised Kawira Mwangaza.
