Background
Duncan Maina Mathenge is the Member of parliament for Nyeri Town constituency elected on a United Democratic Alliance Party. During the 2022 general election, he staged a vicious political battle against the incumbent Ngunjiri Wambugu who was vying on a Jubilee Party ticket.
In Nyeri County, all the leaders from all the constituencies were elected on United Democratic Alliance Party including the governor, senator and women representative.
Duncan Maina Mathenge Education
Duncan Maina Mathenge joined Giakanja Secondary School in the year 1978 and sat for his Kenya Certification of Secondary Education in 1981.
In 1982, he joined Nyandarua High School for a period of one year for his studies in Kenya Advanced Certificate of Education(KACE).
Duncan Maina Mathenge Career and Politics
Later in 1984, he joined College of Health Professions for his post-secondary school education where he studied an unnamed Diploma Course. While at the College of Health Professions, he enrolled at City Guilds Institute for an unnamed certificate course.
Previously Duncan Maina Mathenge has worked in the County Government of Nyeri where he held two different positions between 2013 and 2015. At first he served as a political advisor to the county government before being promoted to the position of the Chief of Staff of the County Government.
He is now the Member of Parliament of Nyeri town constituency serving his first term.
