Meet the Moipei triplets namely Mary, Maggy and Marta. The three were born in Kenya in 1993 and raised in Nairobi by their parents, Nicholas Moipei and Christine Moipei.
After completing their primary school education, they joined Brookhouse School in Nairobi Karen and later proceeded to St Mary’s University in Texas where they graduated music arts degree in 2018.
The triplets, alongside their younger sibling Seraphine discovered their talent in singing in their teenage days and were encouraged by their parents to pursue their talents.
In their teenage days, the triplets and their younger sister Seraphine formed a musical group called Moipei Quartet. In 2011, they were announced as the youngest winners of the SABC Crown Gospel Musical Awards which was then the biggest gospel music award in Africa.
After winning the award, the Moipei sisters were thereafter named by United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) as their official children’s ambassadors in Kenya.
When retired President Uhuru Kenyatta won the 2013 general election, the Moipei quartet was among the pool of entertainers who performed and entertained Kenyans during the inauguration ceremony.
Thereafter, they moved to the United States to study music art at St Mary’s University in Antonio, Texas. At the university, they rose to prominence due to their talent and they were often selected to represent the school in musical events and competitions.
After completing their studies, the younger sibling parted ways with the triplets to pursue other ventures.
One of the remarkable performance by the Moipei Triplet is the performance of the American National Anthem at the NBA match between LA Clippers and San Antonio Spurs.
The three now live in New York where they relocated after completing their studies at St Mary’s University in Texas and joined Prestigious Broadway Theatre.
