George Gachagua is the Member of Parliament for Ndaragwa Constituency elected on United Democratic Alliance Party ticket during the 2022 general election. He is serving for his first term after trouncing the incumbent, Jeremiah Kioni, who was defending the seat on a Jubilee Party ticket.
Gachagua was born and raised in Ndaragwa, Nyandarua county. He attended Ngaindeithia Primary school between 1974 and 1979. He did certification of Primary Education in 1979 and joined Ndaragwa High School in 1980.
After completing his secondary school studies in 1983, he joined Kenya Water Institute in 1989 to pursue a Diploma in Water Engineering. He completed the water Engineering studies in 1992.
In 2005, he enrolled for Bachelor degree course in Environmental Planning and Management at Kenyatta University and graduated in 2008.
In 2014, he enrolled for a Master’s Degree in Land and Water Resources Management which is ongoing todate. George Gachagua also has Certification in Remote Sensing from Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development. Additionally, he is a member of Hydrological Society of Kenya.
George Gachagua started his career life in the mid 90s after securing employment at the Ministry of Water and Irrigation as an Assistant Hydrologist in 1995. A position he held until 2014 when he moved to Kiambu County government as the County Head of Water and Conservation Department.
He however resigned in 2017 to pursue personal ambitions and in 2022 he was elected as the member of parliament for the Ndaragwa Constituency.
