The now Member of Parliament for Tetu constituency joined Kenyatta University in the early 90s to study Bachelor of Arts in Education. While at Kenyatta University he enrolled at the Institute of Certified Public Accounts for CPAK accreditation which he received in 1995, the same year that he graduated from Kenyatta University.
In 2010, he joined Strathmore University to advance his studies. At Strathmore University School of Business, he enrolled for Masters of Business Administration course which he completed and was conferred the honors in March 2012.
From the day Geoffrey Wandeto graduated from Kenyatta University, he has worked with several organizations both in private and the public sectors.
Career and Politics
Immediately after leaving Kenyatta University, he worked as a Senior Accountant and Systems Developer at Kenya Power and Lighting Company between until 1999.
In early 2000 he moved to Nation Media Group where he held the position of management accountant for a period of two years until December 2002. Between January 2001 and December, he was consulting for Cyber Com Ltd.
After his consulting contract with Cyber Com Ltd ended in 2003, he signed a new consulting contract with Techsphere Systems Ltd in January 2004 for a period of one year and ten months.
In November 2005, he joined one of the big regional telcos, Safaricom Ltd, as head of Enterprise, Products and Innovation. A position he held until 2017. At Safaricom, he was the brain behind several innovation projects by Safaricom.
After his tenure at Safaricom came to an end in 2017, he moved to Bidii Credit Limited, a microfinance credit firm. Godfrey Wandeto worked as the Chief Executive Officer
Wandeto now serves as the Member of Parliament for Tetu Constituency which is one of the constituencies in Nyeri County.
