Two days after the government released money meant to caution the elderly dupped as Inua Jamii cash transfer, the money has led to untimely death of two elderly people in Makueni and Kakamega Counties.

Makueni Incident

Reports reaching UnreportedKe news desk is that an elderly man aged 90 from Kibwezi in Makueni County was brutally murdered minutes after he left the bank where he had gone to collect the delayed cash transfer money.

The old man had gone to collect his benefits at Mateva area and on his way home, he was accosted by knife wielding gang that slit his throat and fled with Ksh 8000 he had withdrawn.

The deceased body was taken to Kambu Hospital Mortuary pending conclusion of investigations by police officers and crackdown on the assailants.

Kakamega Incident

In other news, an 89 years old lady was killed in an inferno started by her grandson after she declined to share the Inua Jamii benefits with him in Kwisero, Kakamega County.

The 89 years old woman known as Floice Lisero was retrieved from the house only when she was completely burnt.

It is alleged that the suspect was demanding a share of the Inua Jamii his grandmother had received and when the grandmother declined, he got angered and stormed a nearby family banana plantation where he brought the banana stems down plus other plants.

Neighbors intervened and locked the 40 years old man who is suspected of misusing drugs in the house.

He later escaped and torched his grandmother’s house before attempting to escape but fortunately he was apprehended by the locals who wanted to lynch him.

Police however, arrived and rescued him from the infuriated mob baying for his blood.
