Man Lynched by Mob for Killing his neighbors two children aged 4 and 10.
A mwingi man was descended on by the mob and beaten to pulp after acknowledging that he was the one who killed his neighbor’s two children aged 4 and 10.
Zakayo Ruth aged 40, stormed his neighbors home and attacked the neighbor’s children and wife, killing the children on the spot and inflicting the wife with serious injuries.
The wife is currently admitted in Machakos Level 5 hospital in an Intensive Care Unit where he is receiving treatment.
Area Chief, Benedeta Wamuo, confirmed the incident and said that the perpetrator had gone into hiding after he committed the heinous act on Thursday last week. He however left his hiding due to starvation and sought help from a section of locals to direct him to the chief’s residence.
Before beating him to pulp, locals questioned him and he confessed to killing the two children and injuring their mother who currently admitted in Intensive Care Unit.
Zakayo however, defended himself by claiming that his target was not the children and the wife but Muthui Maluki who is the father of the two children who was grazing on his piece of land but after storming their residence, he did not find Muthui Maluki and ended up killing the two children as well as injuring their mother.
Angry residents descended on him and killed him on the spot.
Maluki, the father of the deceased has appealed to the members of the public and local leaders to help him in sorting the hospital bill and giving his two children a decent send off.
