Speaking after the installation, Pharis Jane recalled the storm that engulfed the student’s umbrella body after the sudden death of the founding chairman through a tragic road accident.

“Recently, as we are all aware, MCUSA has faced its greatest storm. We lost a soldier, not just a soldier but our top rank general and our Founding Chairman Steve Chege…. I want to assure you that no matter how great our setbacks are, how severe our pain is, we shall not give up,” Pharis Jane said.

In his maiden speech, he also noted that the organization will be honouring its late founding chairperson every 30th of October every year.

He also emphasized the need of not abandoning the dream of the founding chairman and also the blueprint of MCUSA.

“Comrades as you have added more power to me today, I may lack capacity equal to that of my brother and MCUSA founding chairman Steve Chege. However, I believe in the shared dream he had envisioned for MCUSA. It is that shared dream that will guide the journey we are going to undertake as MCUSA comrades henceforth,” he also said as he concluded his speech.
