Brazil retired footballer, Pele, family members start arriving at the hospital where he is receiving elevated care after doctors allegedly said he is not responding to chemotherapy treatment.
Pele’s close family members are gathering at Albert Einstein Hospital located in Sao Paulo to be with their 82 years legendary father who was admitted towards the end of November 2022.
Earlier this week, doctors at Albert Einstein Hospital who attending to Pele claimed that his cancer ailment had advanced prompting the care givers to put him in elevated medical care which is associated with kidney and cardiac failure.
A day after Pele’s son Edson Cholbi Nascimento who is commonly known as Edinho issued a press statement saying that he will not be visiting his father in hospital, Edinho who works for a soccer club in South Brazil visited his father in hospital. Edinho had denied claims that he would visit his father in hospital and said that only doctors can help him.
Pele’s daughter, Kely Nascimento, who is also at the hospital posted on Instagram a photo of her and his brother Edinho in company of his two children. Kely confirmed that they were with Edinho at the hospital and no one will make her leave the hospital.
A few hours later, Edinho posted a picture holding his father’s hand saying, “Dad… My strength is yours.”
In 2021, Edson Arantes alias Pele was diagnosed with colon tumor which was removed in the month of September the same year. Close family members and the hospital are yet to disclose whether the tumor had spread to other body organs.
Two daughters of Pele, Kelly Nascimento and Flavia Arantes two days ago posted a photo of Pele on his hospital bed while holding Kely’s hand as Flavia was sleeping on the couch.
Kely noted that they are spending the night at the hospital as they continue with the fight in faith.
Pele is an iconic footballer who made Brazil three world cups in 1958, 1962 and in 1970.
