One family in Kiharu, Muranga County is in tears of joy after of their daughter who went missing 27 years ago resurfaced despite them burring someone who was alleged to be her.
Martha Wangari is said to have left her uncles homestead in 1994 when she was just 15 years. After living home, she got employed in Limuru Kiambu county where she worked until she got married.
Martha explained that she was unable to travel back come because of financial constraints considering she has a young family with children to take care of.
At the gate she met her aunt, who confirmed to her that she at the right place i.e their home.
Back home, her parents looked confused because they had already buried someone they thought was their daughter. Her mother narrated how they were told that their daughter was admitted at Mathari mission Hospital located in Nyeri town. When they visited their alleged daughter, she could not speak but she later passed on and was buried in Othaya in the year 2004. At the time they visited Mathari hospital to see their daughter, they were in distress over their daughter disappearance and they could not tell whether the person in question was their daughter or not.
First, the family could not believe that their daughter who they even thought was dead could be alive. When they saw someone resembling to be her, they thought it was a ghost.
Locals could not hide their joy, they joined Wangari family in celebrating and organized a home coming party .
