Governor Kiraitu Murungi and Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya who never see each other eye to eye have finally buried the hatchet and vowed to work together to deliver 70% of the Meru vote to Azimio.
The two rivalry begun in 2017 when Peter Munya accused Jubilee for rigging him in favour of Kiraitu who was among the architects of the party.
In a video that that resurfaced only on many occasions, Munya blamed Deputy President William Ruto of interfering with Meru affairs and also warned him of bigger problems. President Uhuru Kenyatta however, calmed Munya and offered him a cabinet slot to stop him from moving to the then NASA.
Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila have on several occasions tried to reunite the two political rivals but all proved futile.
As deadline to IEBC deadline for resignations of Civil Servants interested in running for office neared, rumors in the corridors indicated that Peter Munya was intending to resign and faceoff with Kiraitu on the ballot. President Uhuru Kenyatta however intervened and bargained for a prime position for Peter Munya in the next government if Raila wins.
Despite this, Munya and Kiraitu have not been seeing each other eye to eye until today when they agreed to work together at Kinoru stadium to deliver 70% of the Meru vote to Azimio One Kenya Candidate Raila Odinga.
The two are now expected to work together not only for Raila Odinga but also to deliver majority of the seats from Mt Kenya East to Azimio.
