Homabay woman surrenders to chief after stabbing her husband who succumbed while being rushed to hospital.
The 19 years old woman was running from the members of the community who were baying for her blood after she stabbed her husband with a knife in the stomach.
A scuffle had ensued between Lucy Anyango and her deceased husband following plans to marry a second wife by the deceased.
The deceased is said to have arrived home the previous evening with a damsel and told his first wife that the voluptuous damsel was going to be his second wife.
Lucy Anyango, the first wife, questioned why he would marry a second wife and allegedly, the deceased started raining blows on her.
She ran for her safety and slept at her neighbor’s place. In the morning she went home to clean clothes and wash her baby, but the husband allegedly assaulted and tried to strangle her.
To defend herself, she ran to the kitchen and picked a kitchen knife which she used to stab her husband.
Upon learning of the incident, Miyoro village residents rushed to the scene baying for Lucy’s blood. She however, managed to get to Chief’s place for safety.
The area assistant chief, Nyawande, confirmed that the diseased, Mr Michael Ondiala, and his wife Lucy Anyango were not in good terms for quite some time.
The assistant chief also confirmed that Ondiala and Lucy Anyango had separated for some time and they stated living together again towards the end of last year after separating for about six months following family disputes.
The body of Michael was taken to Manyatta Kobodo morgue as police continue with the investigations.
