DCI sleuth shot by imposter police officers at his gate along Kamiti Road in Kahawa Wendani.

A forensics expert sleuth based at Directorate of Criminal Investigations is in critical condition after he was shot by impostors who claimed to be police officers.

The four thugs imposing as police officers, flagged the police officer who was in company of his wife at Roysambu as they headed home from a party.

The impostor police officers had elected an illegal roadblock and upon flagging him, the forensic experts explained to them that he was from a party and he lived not so far from the road block.

They later followed him closely to his place along Kamiti Road and upon arriving at the gate, the shot the cop and left the wife unarmed.

His unarmed wife rushed him to Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital where he was put under Intensive Care.

In a statement by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the DCI director Mohamed Amin wished him quickly recovery and promised to put those responsible behind bars.

“The Director of Criminal Investigations Mohamed Amin wishes the detective a speedy recovery and sends his loved ones’ lots of love from the DCI family, following the unfortunate incident,” DCI statement read in parts.

Directorate of Criminal Investigations has also dispatched three specialized teams to hunt the gang.
