Heroic five years old girl saves brother from death following a car accident that killed their two parents.
A five years girl has been praised across the world for saving her brother’s life who would not have survived high temperatures after their parents car got an accident and died on the spot.
Cindy Braddock aged 25 and Jake Day aged 28 were heading to a family gathering when they were involved in a road accident in remote parts of rural Western Australia.
Their family filed a report of missing persons after the family of five failed to show up for a family gathering and their calls went unanswered.
Two days later, a wreckage of their car was found over 150 miles from Perth capital with the three children trapped inside and their two parents dead.
Speaking to local media outlets, one of the relative confirmed that the five years old girl saved her sibling by freeing him from the child’s seat else he would have died due to the high temperatures in the region.
“If it wasn’t for the 5-year-old undoing the buckle of the 1-year-old’s car seat, he wouldn’t be with us today,” Michael said.
“Basically they were stuck in the car for the 55 hours in 30-degree (Celsius – about 86 Fahrenheit) heat….Nobody knows what they went through,” he added.
Following the accident and subsequent rescue, the three children were rushed to hospital with severe dehydration and life threatening injuries and are expected to be released from hospital once they stabilize.
